School Board Teacher: Job
status is: ACTIVE

JOB DESCRIPTION: The exact job description
for this position varies with each school. In some cases, the teacher
is assigned to a single classroom, but in most cases, the teacher rotates
between schools. Often, the teacher will be responsible
for a specific age level (junior high only for example), but usually they will
also be asked to teach at a local kindergarten or elementary school at least
once a month.
In some cases, the teacher is responsible for classes curriculums
and course planning, and will often work independently rather
than acting as a teacher's aid.
There is some similarity here to the positions held by many JETs, but
the responsibilities are usually greater and as you are being hired
(through
us) by the actual Board of Education, they are often expecting trained
teachers, able to work independently and able to design a semester's
or full year's
language program.

IMPORTANT SPECIAL NOTES:
This position often offers extended vacation time (usually
3 weeks off in August rather than 10 days like the regular FS in
house positions.) However the exact dates and amount of vacation
depends on the school board.
This position usually offers a more regular schedule and
usually requires no nighttime teaching.
This position usually requires occasional weekend work attending
school functions.
